Mahattan Flower and the brayer.

<

I have never used my brayer much, but figured it was time to bust it loose from the shelve it was on. I wish I could tell you the name of the lovely lady that actually did the original of this card because I have CASEd it. Only she used the "debossed" image and I used the embossed imaged of the Mahattan folder from SU on shimmery paper. In reality I tried the debossed image, but mine did not look pretty at all. So being determined I gave the embossed side a go. Using Rose Red, Pink Pirouttee, and So saffron on both cards, I achieved different depths of color by direct color by the brayer to paper on the card on the left and running the brayer on scratch paper first on the right. Then I cut them out and mounted them to Pink Piroutte. The verse is from the Watercolor Trio stamp set. All in all a simple but pretty card. Ta Dah!!

Well it is off to fold the clothes and finish the swap....30 card fronts....and my cutter is squeaking something awful!

I will share another card with you tomorrow when I make my own DSP.

Let me introduce myself.

I am living in the northwoods of Wisconsin right next to the UP of Michigan close to Lake Superior with my best friend and love of my life Jeff along with our ferocious 3.5 pound chihuahua (who is in the picture after his stay in the hospital).
After the plant closed where Jeff worked in Garner we were fortunate enough that he found employment in Ironwood, Michigan, which is 5 miles from our home in Montreal, Wisconsin. We moved up here a year ago and have started adapting to live in the woods with a few other critters that make the woods their home.

Luckily with my addiction to stamping Ironwood has a local stamp store (Creative Spirits) with 2 wonderful women, Becky and Karen, who own the store. Through them and taking classes at the store I have been able to meet other stampers and we all know stampers make the best friends! If you are ever in the area, please stop by and tell them Hi!

I hope to be able to share my hobby and passion with you. Tomorrow I will share a card that I made using the brayer. My dream some day is to be as good with the brayer as Michelle Zindorf awesome stamper extrordinare, http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoastampers.com/. One can only dream!
